Techniques are provided for operating a magnetic resonance device to acquire spatially-resolved magnetic resonance data. A segmented turbo spin echo sequence comprising multiple subsequences is used to acquire the magnetic resonance data. Each one of the subsequences acquires data for a different segment of a sampled k-space. Each subsequence also comprises multiple pulse trains, with each pulse train comprising an excitation pulse preceding multiple refocusing pulses, and the multiple pulse trains of the respective subsequence using mutually different excitation pulses to acquire data for different spectral bins and/or different spatial slices of the magnetic resonance data. Further, a repetition time is defined for the respective subsequence as the time between the first excitation pulse within that subsequence and the first excitation pulse of the subsequence that precedes the respective subsequence in the segmented turbo spin echo sequence, and is different for at least two of the subsequences.
