A high-pressure fluid handling device. The high-pressure fluid handling device includes a housing, a tube, and a stationary phase medium. The housing includes a first component with a first interface surface and a second component with a second interface surface. The first and second components are securable to one another with the first and second interface surfaces in facing relationship with one another to form an interface therebetween. The housing includes a channel extending through the first component to and along the interface. The tube extends along the channel. The tube defines a lumen with a substantially circular cross-section having a lumen diameter equal to or less than 1000 μm. The stationary phase medium is positioned in the lumen. The stationary phase medium is suitable to chromatographically separate compounds present in a liquid sample.
