The present invention pertains to a system for monitoring breastfeeding in a human subject, the system comprises a monitoring compartment, and a milk sample holding chamber. The monitoring compartment comprises a sensing module with a set of two electrodes for measuring conductivity, a volume sufficiency sensor, and a temperature sensor. The monitoring compartment comprising a processing unit in data communication with the sensing module, the processing module configured for processing the conductivity, temperature and volume sufficiency of the milk sample and for providing a milk status value relating to the breastfeeding efficiency of the subject. The processing unit comprises a shell housing comprising a shell body and an open shell base, wherein the sensing module is positioned within the shell housing such that at least the sensing portion thereof extends down vertically from the body of the shell housing towards the open shell base. The sample holding chamber comprising at least one sample cavity sized and shaped to hold a predetermined milk sample volume, wherein the monitoring compartment couples with the at least one sample holding chamber so that the open base of the shell surrounds the sample holding chamber to create a milk sample enclosure such that at least part of the sensing portion of the sensing module is positioned within the sample cavity. The system is configured to monitor milk at all stages of breastfeeding and provide at least one status value relating to the breastfeeding efficiency in the human subject.
A system for monitoring breast milk at various stages of breastfeeding from colostrum through transition to fully mature milk in a human subject, the system comprising:
A method for monitoring breast milk sample of a human subject at various stages of breastfeeding from colostrum through transition to fully mature milk, the method comprising:
A computer system configured for measuring indicators in human milk sample in different volumes from initial colostrum to fully mature milk, for use of monitoring breastfeeding efficiency, the system comprising one or more processing units, and one or more computer readable media storing executable instructions, and at least one sensor-set composed of sensor arranged to measure a conductivity and/or a resistivity, sensor indicative of sufficiency of human milk sample volume and sensor arranged to measure the human milk sample temperature, wherein execution thereof by the at least one processing unit configures the computer system to:
