Abstract

A rail slot insert for a rail interface system includes opposing lateral sidewalls and a longitudinal slot positioned between the lateral sidewalls, the longitudinal slot permitting resilient inward deflection of the lateral sidewalls during insertion of the rail slot insert into a slot of the rail interface system. One or more tabs extend from one or both of the lateral sidewalls and are configured to be received in corresponding cutouts formed in one or more interior sidewalls of the slot. The one or more tabs thereby position and retain the rail slot insert within the slot of the rail interface system. In some implementations, the rail slot insert includes an opening defined in the longitudinal slot and configured to receive a threaded fastener. Also disclosed are accessory mounts incorporating such rail slot inserts, as well as rail interface systems including slots having cutouts configured to receive the one or more tabs.
