Abstract

An apparatus for feeding solid fuel feedstock into a furnace is described. The apparatus comprises a conveyor arranged to convey feedstock to a feed zone, a drive assembly arranged to drive the conveyor, and a feed member. The feed member is arranged to move between a hold position in which feedstock is held in the feed zone, and a feed position in which the feed member is configured to feed feedstock to the furnace. The drive assembly is arranged to synchronously operate the feed member and the conveyor. A furnace system comprising the apparatus and a furnace is also described. A method of delivering solid fuel feedstock into a furnace is also described.
