Abstract

The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock, in particular a motor vehicle door lock, which is equipped with a locking mechanism (1, 2) consisting substantially of a rotary latch (1) and a pawl (2). Furthermore, an actuating lever chain (9, 10, 11, 12) is provided for the locking mechanism (1, 2). In addition, at least one functional unit (14, 15, 16; 8, 13) driven by an electric motor (7, 13) is provided, said functional unit being optionally and interchangeably accommodated in an associated lock housing (3, 4). According to the invention, the functional unit (14, 15, 16; 8, 13) is designed as an opening drive (14, 15, 16) and/or active mass inertia element (8, 13).
