A post-mounted support apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for temporarily or semi-permanently supporting platforms, tools, and construction materials from existing installed posts without relying on ground-contacting scaffolding. Each apparatus includes an upper bracket and a lower bracket configured to engage a vertical post, a vertical support member extending between the brackets, a horizontal support arm projecting outwardly from the post, and a brace that reinforces the support arm. The brackets may secure by frictional surfaces, mechanical fasteners, or both. Multiple apparatuses may be mounted to spaced posts so that planks, walk-boards, or other platform members extend between the apparatuses to create an elevated work surface or material shelf. Optional features include secondary support members, adjustable or telescoping components, modular construction, removable braces, protective pads, and post-engaging features adapted for square, rectangular, or round posts. The disclosed arrangement improves jobsite access, portability, and flexibility in demanding construction and maintenance environments.
