Container with child-resistant and tamper-resistant cap

A container comprising:

• a bottle having a side wall and a bottom wall joined to a lower end of said side wall, said side wall having a terminal edge portion spaced from said bottom wall, said side wall and said bottom wall together defining an interior of said bottle and said interior opening outwardly through said terminal edge portion such that said terminal edge portion defines a mouth of said bottle;
• and
• a cap arrangement fixed to said terminal edge portion of said bottle, said cap arrangement comprising:
• a first cap part having a generally planar wall defining therein a dispensing opening;
• and
• a second cap part having a generally planar wall defining therein a dispensing opening, one of said first and second cap parts being rotatably mounted to the other of said first or second cap parts and said walls of said first and second cap parts are disposed in superimposed relation with one another;
• a child-resistant arrangement, said child-resistant arrangement comprising:
• a lever fixed to said first cap part and having a first part disposed in a location accessible for manipulation by a user and a second part joined to and oriented transversely to said first part, said lever being mounted on said first cap part for movement in a direction substantially parallel to a central axis of said bottle and being movable between a release position and a lock position, said lever in said lock position preventing rotation of said one first or second cap part relative to said other first or second cap part and said lever in said release position permitting rotation of said one first or second cap part relative to said other first or second cap part;
• and
• a recessed portion disposed in said second cap part and at least one detent disposed in said recessed portion, said second part of said lever being disposed within said recessed portion of said second cap part for selectively engaging with said at least one detent, said dispensing openings of said first and second cap parts being non-aligned with one another when said second part of said lever is engaged with said at least one detent to define a closed configuration of said cap arrangement, said dispensing openings of said first and second cap parts being aligned with one another when said second part of said lever is disengaged from said at least one detent to define an open configuration of said cap arrangement, said dispensing openings in said closed configuration preventing access to said interior of said bottle and to objects stored therein and said dispensing openings in said open configuration being in communication with said interior of said bottle and permitting access to said interior and to objects stored therein, said second part of said lever when engaged with said at least one detent being disposed in said lock position to prevent rotation of said one first or second cap part relative to said other first or second cap part and said second part of said lever when disengaged from said at least one detent being disposed in said release position to permit rotation of said one first or second cap part relative to said other first or second cap part.
