Abstract

A hydraulic pressure generation device includes: an electric motor that generates first rotational power; a reduction gear that decelerates the first rotational power and outputs second rotational power; a conversion mechanism that includes a rotating member for performing rotational motion and a linear motion member for performing linear motion, and converts the second rotational power into linear power of the linear motion member; a piston inserted into a cylinder to adjust hydraulic pressure of the cylinder by the linear power; and a buffer member that, when the electric motor cannot generate the first rotational power, absorbs kinetic energy of a moved member moved in a direction along a rotation axis of the rotating member by the hydraulic pressure. The buffer member is on a side opposite to the cylinder with respect to the moved member in the rotation axis direction, and absorbs kinetic energy by colliding with the moved member.
