Abstract

A load carrying platform for mounting on a vehicle is described, the platform being generally rectangular and including: a front region, two side regions, a rear region, and a centrally disposed load carrying region, so that when installed on a vehicle the front region faces in the direction of travel of the vehicle; the front region of the platform includes a leading edge, and the cross-sectional profile of the leading edge includes a generally rounded nose region; the gradient of the leading edge changes gradually in a direction rearwardly from the nose region both above and below the nose region, commencing at a vertical gradient and transitioning to upper and lower horizontal surfaces.
