Actuator and actuator assembly method

An actuator for changing an irradiation direction of a vehicle lamp, the actuator comprising:

• a rotating member configured to rotate as a motor rotates;
• a rod including a connection portion connected to a mechanism configured to tilt an optical member provided in the vehicle lamp, and the rod being coaxially coupled to the rotating member in a relatively rotatable manner;
• a housing formed with an opening through which the rod advances and retracts;
• and
• a holding member configured to be mounted to the opening and configured to hold the rod slidably in an advancing-retracting direction while preventing rattling of the rod in a direction intersecting the advancing-retracting direction,
• wherein the rod has a female thread formed in a hole formed toward the connection portion from an end portion on a side coupled to the rotating member,
• wherein the rotating member has a male thread provided on an outer periphery of an end portion on a side coupled to the rod, and
• wherein the male thread and the female thread mesh with each other to couple the rotating member and the rod.

An actuator for changing an irradiation direction of a vehicle lamp, the actuator comprising:

• a rotating member configured to rotate as a motor rotates;
• a rod including a connection portion connected to a mechanism configured to tilt an optical member provided in the vehicle lamp, and the rod being coaxially coupled to the rotating member in a relatively rotatable manner;
• and
• a first housing formed with an opening through which the rod advances and retracts.
