Outflow control based on connected device

A surgical pump assembly comprising:

• a user interface;
• an outflow pump cassette including a cassette housing;
• at least one of a non-designated input tube with a tool connector end configured to couple with a plurality of different compatible surgical tools, or a designated input tube that is coupled to a designated surgical tool;
• an output tube extending from the cassette housing to a drainage end;
• an identifier module coupled to the cassette housing and containing identification data that includes a presence of at least one of the non-designated input tube or the designated input tube;
• a pump console including a pump with a plurality of pump settings for effectuating removal of fluid and debris during a surgical procedure;
• a sensor configured to detect the identifier module and obtain the identification data;
• and
• a control system including a processor and a memory, the memory containing instructions that when carried out by the processor, cause the processor to:
• receive the identification data;
• if the non-designated input tube is present, populate a menu on the user interface that includes a plurality of different pump setting profiles, each pump setting profile associated with a different one of the plurality of compatible surgical tools that are compatible with the non-designated input tube;
• and
• if the designated input tube is present, assign one of the plurality of different pump setting profiles to the designated input tube.

A pump console comprising:

• a user interface;
• a cassette loading dock configured to receive a plurality of different outflow pump cassettes, each outflow pump cassette including a cassette housing, at least one input tube extending from the cassette housing to a tool connector end configured to couple with a plurality of surgical tools, and an identifier module containing identification data of the associated outflow pump cassette;
• a pump with a plurality of pump settings;
• a sensor is located proximate the loading dock and configured to detect the identifier module and obtain the identification data of whichever one of the plurality of different outflow pump cassettes are located in the loading dock;
• and
• a control system including a processor and a memory, the memory containing instructions that when carried out by the processor, cause the processor to:
• receive the identification data;
• determine if the at least one input tube includes at least two input tubes from the identification data;
• and
• in response to the at least one input tube including the at least two input tubes populate a menu on the user interface that includes a plurality of different pump setting profiles, each pump setting profile individually assignable to a different one of the at least two input tubes.
