In accordance with the purpose(s) of the present disclosure, as embodies and broadly described herein, the disclosure, in one aspect, relates to slippery organogels and a method of making nitric oxide releasing compositions. The slippery organogels include (a) compound comprising the reaction product between a polysiloxane comprising one or more isocyanate reactive groups and a diisocyanate and (b) a lubricant. The mechanical properties of the organogels can be modified depending upon their application. The ability of the slippery organogels to prevent adhesion of platelets and proteins as well as prevent the formation of biofilms make them suitable for the production of medical devices to prevent microbial infections.
A slippery organogel comprising (a) compound comprising the reaction product between a polysiloxane comprising two or more isocyanate reactive groups and a diisocyanate and (b) a lubricant.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
