Abstract
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising purified red blood cell membrane fragments (RBCMFs) as well as methods of making and using thereof.
Claims31
A method for forming a composition of purified red blood cell membrane fragments (RBCMFs), the method comprising:
- lysing a population of red blood cells (RBCs) to produce a composition comprising crude RBCMFs;
- and
- filtering the crude RBCMFs by microfiltration against a filtration membrane, thereby forming a retentate fraction comprising the purified RBCMFs and a permeate fraction comprising low molecular weight contaminants.
