Apparatus and related methods relate to a vertical shelving unit that suspends storage bins individually by their lips on transverse support members. In an illustrative embodiment, multiple vertical posts define a three-dimensional space with sets of transverse support members on opposing sides that extend toward each other into the space. For example, storage bins may be spatially distributed such that each bin can slide laterally through the opening between opposing support members. For example, the vertical posts may remain free of bin supports between certain support member sets, which may allow at least one bin to move upward within the space. Various embodiments may advantageously enhance storage efficiency and accessibility by supporting bins from their side rails, enabling storage without down-stacking and facilitating easy access to bin contents while maintaining robust structural support.
