An electronic circuit, comprising:

• an acquisition module configured to determine a type of an airflow sensor;
• a selecting module configured to determine a voltage value based on the type of the airflow sensor and to generate a control command based on the determined voltage value;
• and
• a controlling module configured to generate a control signal based on the received control command.

A method of operating an electronic cigarette, the method comprising:

• determining a type of an airflow sensor included in an electronic cigarette;
• determining a voltage value based on the type of the airflow sensor;
• generating a control command corresponding to the voltage value;
• and
• generating, based on the control command, a control signal for controlling a heating operation of the electronic cigarette.

An apparatus, comprising:

• a sensor comprising a conductive plate, a conductive film, and a spacer located between the conductive plate and the conductive film;
• and
• an electronic circuit configured to:
• determine a type of the sensor,
• determine a voltage value based on the type of the sensor, and
• generate a control signal based on the voltage value.
