Abstract
According to the disclosure, there is provided plants, seeds, and tissue cultures of the hybrid corn variety designated CH894993 as well as methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of this variety with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The disclosure further relates to genetic complements of plants of this variety.
Claims24
A seed of hybrid corn variety
- CH894993 produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV927891 with a second plant of variety CV526813, wherein representative seeds of the varieties CV927891 and CV526813 have been deposited under NCMA Accession No. 202206048 and NCMA Accession No. 202106040, respectively.
A converted seed of hybrid corn variety
- CH894993 further comprising at least one locus conversion, wherein a plant grown from the seed comprises a trait conferred by the at least one locus conversion, and wherein the seed is produced by crossing a first plant selected from the group consisting of variety CV927891 and selfed progeny thereof with a second plant selected from a second group consisting of variety CV526813 and selfed progeny thereof, wherein the first plant, the second plant, or both further comprise the at least one locus conversion, and wherein representative seeds of the varieties CV927891 and CV526813 have been deposited under NCMA Accession No. 202206048 and NCMA Accession No. 202106040, respectively.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid com variety, the method comprising:
- introducing the heritable trait into a first inbred corn variety CV927891, a second inbred corn variety CV526813, or both inbred corn varieties CV927891 and CV526813 to produce plants of the inbred corn varieties that heritably carry the heritable trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into the inbred corn varieties by backcrossing, wherein the backcrossing is sufficient to produce an inbred corn variety further comprising the heritable trait, and
- producing a plant of hybrid com variety CH894993 further comprising the heritable trait by crossing a plant of the first or the second inbred corn variety that heritably carries the heritable trait with a plant of a different inbred corn variety selected from a group consisting of inbred corn varieties CV927891 and CV526813, or crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety and a plant of the second inbred corn variety that both heritably carry the heritable trait, wherein representative seeds of the varieties CV927891 and CV526813 have been deposited under NCMA Accession No. 202206048 and NCMA Accession No. 202106040, respectively.
A method for producing a converted seed of hybrid corn variety
- CH894993 further comprising at least one locus conversion, the method comprising crossing a first plant selected from the group consisting of variety CV927891 and selfed progeny thereof with a second plant selected from a second group consisting of variety CV526813 and selfed progeny thereof, wherein the first plant, the second plant, or both further comprise the at least one locus conversion, and wherein representative seeds of the varieties CV927891 and CV526813 have been deposited under NCMA Accession No. 202206048 and NCMA Accession No. 202106040, respectively.
