System to monitor for and alert on risk of heat stress in school classrooms

A method, comprising:

• receiving, via a cloud-based server, sensor data from a plurality of sensors distributed across a plurality of locations in a building;
• receiving a personal registration indicating a responsibility position of a person and a device ID associated with the person;
• determining, based on the sensor data, that an environmental condition at a first location of the plurality of locations exceeds a predetermined threshold;
• determining the device ID, at least in part based on the responsibility position;
• and
• transmitting, via a network interface, a notification to the device ID, wherein the notification indicates the first location and a task to be performed.

An apparatus, comprising:

• a network interface configured to receive:
• a structural registration identifying a location and a first sensor ID,
• a first personal registration indicating a first responsibility position of a first person, the first personal registration further indicating a first device ID and a user location, and
• a first trigger signal including first heat data identifying a first heat index, the first trigger signal indicating the first sensor ID;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• determine the location, at least in part based on the first sensor ID,
• determine that the first heat index exceeds a first predetermined threshold,
• determine the first device ID, at least in part based on the first responsibility position and the user location, and
• cause a first notification to be performed to the first device ID, wherein the first notification indicates the location.

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium including instructions that, when executed by a processor, perform operations comprising:

• receiving, from a plurality of sensors, sensor data indicating environmental conditions at a plurality of locations;
• receiving a plurality of personal registrations, each personal registration indicating a responsibility position and a device ID;
• determining, based on the sensor data, that an environmental condition at a first location exceeds a first predetermined threshold;
• determining a first device ID associated with a first responsibility position;
• performing a first notification to the first device ID, wherein the first notification indicates the first location;
• determining that the environmental condition at the first location exceeds a second predetermined threshold greater than the first predetermined threshold;
• determining a second device ID associated with a second responsibility position different from the first responsibility position;
• and
• performing a second notification to the second device ID.
