Power supply distribution unit comprising power supply lines

A power supply distribution unit (PSDU) for an electronic device, the PSDU comprising:

• a plurality of power supply lines (PSLs), wherein
• each PSL supplies a different phased input power,
• each PSL is connected to one or more power supply units (PSUs) and one or more switches which connect adjacent PSLs to at least one common PSU such that an adjacent PSL can be connected or disconnected to the same one or more PSUs, and
• the PSDU is configured such that:
• if each of the PSLs is connected to and receiving input power, each one of the PSLs is separately connected to one or more separate PSUs such that each PSU receives an equal share of power from the PSLs;
• and
• if one of the PSLs is disconnected or fails to receive input power, the one or more switches are configured to connect the PSUs such that each of the one or more PSUs receives an equal share of input from the remaining PSLs.

A system for supplying power to an electronic device, the system comprising:

• a power supply distribution unit (PSDU);
• and
• a cloud orchestrator, wherein
• the PSDU comprises a plurality of power supply lines (PSLs),
• each PSL supplies a different phased input power,
• each PSL is connected to one or more power supply units (PSUs) and one or more switches which connect adjacent PSLs to at least one common PSU such that an adjacent PSL can be connected or disconnected to the same one or more PSUs, and
• the system is configured such that:
• if each of the PSLs is connected to and receiving input power, each one of the PSLs is separately connected to one or more separate PSUs such that each PSU receives an equal share of power from the PSLs;
• and
• if one of the PSLs is disconnected or fails to receive input power, the one or more switches are configured to connect the PSUs such that each of the one or more PSUs receives an equal share of input from the remaining PSLs.
