Machine translation model improvement using llm technology

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
• accessing chat data from a live chat that involves machine translation between two different languages performed by a machine translation model;
• prompting a large language model (LLM) to analyze the chat data to detect a sentiment in substantially real-time;
• generating a reward signal based on the sentiment;
• using the reward signal as a label, training, in substantially real-time as the live chat, a live machine translation model associated with the machine translation between the two different languages;
• and
• determining whether to replace the machine translation model with the live machine translation model.

A machine-storage medium comprising instructions which, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

• accessing chat data from a live chat that involves machine translation between two different languages performed by a machine translation model;
• prompting a large language model (LLM) to analyze the chat data to detect a sentiment in substantially real-time;
• generating a reward signal based on the sentiment;
• using the reward signal as a label, training, in substantially real-time as the live chat, a live machine translation model associated with the machine translation between the two different languages;
• and
• determining whether to replace the machine translation model with the live machine translation model.
