Biological research requires isolation and analysis of material, for example, RNA, DNA and protein, from tissue samples. The methods and compositions described herein allow for high resolution imaging of large and intact tissue samples, and subsequent isolation of material in a precise and location dependent-manner. The methods and compositions described herein may be used, for example, for biomarker discovery, identification of cell populations, pathology analysis, and generation of expression data in specific regions of interest.
A method for labeling a region of a tissue or tissue sample, comprising:
A method for isolating a single cell or a nucleus from a tissue or tissue sample, comprising:
A composition comprising a tissue sample, a medium having a refractive index similar to or matching that of the tissue sample, and a photo-activatable label,
A cleared tissue sample comprising a labeled cell, a photo-activatable label and a medium having a refractive index substantially matching the refractive index of the tissue.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
