A bidirectional solid-state lamp comprising:
- a base portion configured to releasably couple the bidirectional solid-state lamp to a lamp envelope configured to direct light from the bidirectional solid-state lamp in a forward direction;
- a support member extending from the base portion along the forward direction;
- a strip or sheet having a first major surface and an opposite second major surface extending along the forward direction, the first and second major surfaces including or supporting light-reflective regions, the strip or sheet supported by the support member;
- a first LED arrangement supported by the first major surface, the first LED arrangement comprising one or more first LED dies;
- a second LED arrangement supported by the second major surface, the second LED arrangement comprising one or more second LED dies;
- electrical conductors arranged along the strip or sheet to provide electrical power to the one or more first LED dies and the one or more second LED dies;
- one or more first wavelength-converting members arranged over the one or more first LED dies;
- one or more second wavelength-converting members arranged over the one or more second LED dies;
- and
- wherein the one or more first LED dies and the one or more second LED dies are oriented in opposite directions perpendicular to the forward direction, and
- wherein the light-reflective regions extend laterally adjacent the first and second LED arrangements, including laterally adjacent the one or more first wavelength-converting members and the one or more second wavelength-converting members, and are positioned to reflect light from the first and second LED arrangements away from the strip or sheet and toward the lamp envelope when the strip or sheet is received within the lamp envelope and the base portion is operatively coupled to the lamp envelope.

A lamp assembly comprising:
- a lamp envelope comprising a reflective portion and a light-transmissive portion, the reflective portion being configured to direct light toward the light-transmissive portion;
- a receiving portion coupled to the lamp envelope;
- and
- a bidirectional solid-state lamp operatively coupled to the receiving portion and disposed at least partly within the lamp envelope, the bidirectional solid-state lamp comprising:
- a strip or sheet having a first major surface and an opposite second major surface extending along a forward direction;
- a first LED arrangement supported by the first major surface and comprising one or more first LED dies;
- a second LED arrangement supported by the second major surface and comprising one or more second LED dies;
- one or more first wavelength-converting members arranged over the one or more first LED dies;
- one or more second wavelength-converting members arranged over the one or more second LED dies;
- and
- light-reflective regions on or carried by the first and second major surfaces, the light-reflective regions extending laterally adjacent the first and second LED arrangements, including laterally adjacent the one or more first wavelength-converting members and the one or more second wavelength-converting members,
- wherein the one or more first LED dies and the one or more second LED dies are oriented in opposite directions transverse to the forward direction,
- wherein the strip or sheet comprises a metallic material supporting the first and second LED arrangements on opposite sides thereof, and
- wherein the metallic material is thermally coupled to the receiving portion and is configured to conduct heat from the first and second LED arrangements toward the receiving portion to facilitate dissipation of heat outside the lamp envelope.
