A garden hose fitting includes a hose connector portion for accepting the end of a garden hose and a connector receiving portion for accepting an O-ring carrying male connector portion of a component to be connected to the hose fitting. The connector receiving portion defines a receiving bore for accepting the male connector portion and includes engaging fingers arranged to move resiliently between an extended position for capturing the male connector portion and a retracted position facilitating insertion and removal of the male connector portion in the receiving bore. An O-ring retaining portion is provided in the receiving bore for accepting an O-ring which is retained in the fitting and arranged for sealing against a male connector portion when inserted into the receiving bore and connected to the hose fitting.
A garden hose fitting comprising:
A garden hose fitting according to claim 15 in which a locking ring is provided on which the at least one finger obstruction portion is mounted, and which is usable by a user for moving the at least one finger obstruction portion between the first and second positions, the locking ring portion being rotatably mounted on the connector receiving portion and rotatable around an axis of the fitting to move the at least one finger obstruction portion between the first and second positions.
