Abstract
Provided herein is an apparatus and system for a modular power source that can operate to extend the range of a battery electric vehicle and/or power accessories. Embodiments provided herein may include a vehicle including: a passenger cab; a truck bed, wherein the truck bed comprises a bed side wall; a modular power source positioned below the truck bed, where the modular power source comprises an internal combustion engine; and an intake chamber, where the intake chamber is positioned within the bed side wall and directs air from within the bed side wall to the internal combustion engine.

A vehicle comprising:
- a passenger cab;
- a truck bed, wherein the truck bed comprises a bed side wall;
- a modular power source positioned below the truck bed, wherein the modular power source comprises an internal combustion engine;
- and
- an intake chamber, wherein the intake chamber is positioned within the bed side wall and directs air from within the bed side wall to the internal combustion engine.

- a vehicle frame;
- a truck bed mounted to the vehicle frame;
- a modular power source comprising:
- a subframe;
- an internal combustion engine mounted to the subframe, wherein the subframe is configured to attach to the vehicle frame and position the internal combustion engine substantially below the vehicle frame;
- and
- an intake chamber, wherein the intake chamber is positioned within a bed side wall of the truck bed and directs air from within the bed side wall to the internal combustion engine.
