Abstract
The present invention relates to (co)polyamides comprising at least 85 mole % (mol. %) of recurring units (RPA) of formula (I): the present invention also relates to polymer compositions comprising such (co)polyamides, as well as articles comprising the same and methods of using said articles in high temperature applications requiring sufficient swelling or deformation upon exposure to moisture, such as for example oil and gas extraction processes (e.g. fracturing balls), or as support materials used to print three-dimensional (3D) parts.
Claims16
A (co)polyamide comprising at least 85 mole % of recurring units (RPA) of formula (I):
- with respect to the total moles of recurring units of said (co)polyamide [polyamide (A)], wherein:
- each of E, equal or different at each occurrence, is a group of any of formula (IN1) or (IN2):
- where Ralk∘ is a mono-valent C1-C12 hydrocarbon group, comprising one or more than one heteroatom;
- each of Ralk1 and Ralk2, equal to or different from each other, are a bond or a divalent C1-C12 hydrocarbon groups, comprising one or more than one heteroatom, with the provision that Ralk1 and Ralk2 are not simultaneously a bond, together forming a heterocyclic mono- or poly-nuclear group with the nitrogen atoms to which they are connected;
- and
- n1 and n2, equal to or different from each other and at each occurrence, are integers, in particular from 1 to 12.
