Storage cart for thin glass and methods of handling thin glass

A storage cart for thin glass, comprising:

• a supporting frame comprising at least one opening, a rear face, two opposing sides, a top, and a bottom;
• a plurality of glass slots, each glass slot of the plurality of glass slots running from the at least one opening to the back of the supporting frame and configured to accommodate one or more thin glass sheets having a thickness of less than 2.2 mm;
• a plurality of sets of elastic strings arranged between the two opposing sides of the supporting frame;
• and
• a platform apparatus for indexing the one or more thin glass sheets in the plurality of glass slots,
• wherein each set of elastic strings defines a side of the two opposing sides of one of the plurality of glass slots, and
• further wherein each elastic string is coupled to the top and bottom of the supporting frame and arranged in a slightly tilted orientation greater than 0° and less than or equal to 35° from vertical.

A storage cart for thin glass, comprising:

• a supporting frame comprising at least one opening and two opposing sides;
• a plurality of glass slots, each glass slot of the plurality of glass slots defined in part by the at least one opening and configured to accommodate one or more thin glass sheets having a thickness of less than 2.2 mm;
• and
• a plurality of sets of elastic strings arranged between the two opposing sides of the supporting frame,
• wherein each set of elastic strings defines a side of the two opposing sides of one of the plurality of glass slots, and
• further wherein each elastic string is coupled to the supporting frame and arranged in a slightly tilted orientation greater than 0° and less than or equal to 35° from vertical.
