A piloting assistance method for landing an aircraft on a target zone centered on a touchdown point. The method comprises an assistance phase comprising determining (STP1), using an on-board computer, a recommended angle configured to assist the pilot in converging towards a predetermined target speed with the aircraft. The recommended angle is a pitch attitude angle, the recommended angle being determined using a calculation law as a function of the target speed and an estimated current aerodynamic drag. The assistance phase comprises displaying (STP2), on a display and with respect to an angle-graduated scale, a first assistance symbol bearing the recommended angle and a second assistance symbol bearing a current angle.
