Abstract

A wood splitting system includes a wood splitter including a base plate, and a knife movable in a vertical direction toward and away from the base plate to define a splitting path. The wood splitting system further includes an assistive wood splitting device removably positioned beneath the knife, and including a plurality of beams arranged to form a first opening and a second opening, and a plurality of rollers forming a first series of rollers and a second series of rollers in the first opening and the second opening, respectively, and configured to rotatably support a round of wood in the splitting path defined between the knife and the base plate. A frame for an assistive wood splitting device is also disclosed herein.

A wood splitting system comprising:

a wood splitter including a base plate, and a knife movable in a vertical direction toward and away from the base plate to define a splitting path;
an assistive wood splitting device removably positioned beneath the knife, and including a plurality of beams arranged to form a first opening and a second opening;
and
a plurality of rollers forming a first series of rollers and a second series of rollers in the first opening and the second opening, respectively, and configured to rotatably support a round of wood in the splitting path defined between the knife and the base plate.
