This application relates generally to a novel guard comb attachment for hair clipper devices comprising an increased plurality of variably spaced teeth, wherein such teeth may include shorter, secondary teeth. This improved design allows for better outcomes over traditionally available guard combs, which typically contain 8-12 uniformly spaced teeth, as the novel comb's variable spacing, increased tooth count, and “skip-tooth” design all provide for deeper penetration into hair or fur, more level control, and enhanced feed efficiency into the clipper blades resulting in a smoother, more even cut in less passes and with less effort compared to standard guard combs having fewer and uniformly spaced teeth. Additional features of the novel guard comb include an improved clipper attachment means and a self-leveling comb.
