An external male catheter assembly includes tubular sheath with an outer flexible braided mesh layer and an inner film layer. The tubular sheath has first end to receive a penis and a second end that sealingly connects to a drainage tube. The tubular sheath is expandable along the longitudinal axis and radially outward therefrom so as to grip a penis located therein. The first end of the tubular sheath is rollable upon itself to shorten its length to facilitate receipt of a penis therein. Once located in the rolled up tubular sheath, the first end is unrolled along the penis toward the patient's body to fluidly seal the catheter assembly to the penis in custom fashion. As a result, the tubular sheath stays fixed in place and directs all urine exiting the penis out through the drainage tube for collection.
