Method and apparatus for measuring position in wireless communication system

A user equipment (UE) comprising:

• a radio frequency (RF) transceiver;
• and
• a processor connected to the RF transceiver,
• wherein the processor is configured to:
• control the RF transceiver to acquire anchor list information for a plurality of anchors and information on vector correction fields;
• calculate a first position value based on Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) positioning using three anchors selected from among the plurality of anchors;
• based on the first position value being calculated without considering heights of the three anchors, correct the first position value by applying a vector correction field corresponding to an arrangement of the three anchors among the vector correction fields;
• and
• determine a position of the UE based on the corrected first position value.

A method by a network comprising:

• transmitting anchor list information for a plurality of anchors to a user equipment (UE);
• receiving, from the UE, information on a first position value of the UE calculated using three anchors among the plurality of anchors;
• based on the first position value being calculated without considering heights of the three anchors, correcting the first position value by applying a vector correction field corresponding to an arrangement of the three anchors among predefined vector correction fields;
• and
• determining the corrected first position value as the position of the UE.
