Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining first data available from a first application, determining that a value for a parameter corresponding to an uplink time is greater than a threshold, resulting in a first determination, based on the first determination, waiting for a first threshold amount of time, and subsequent to the waiting for the first threshold amount of time, generating a first command that causes the first data to be transmitted. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A device, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- obtaining first data available from a first application;
- determining that a value for a parameter corresponding to an uplink time is greater than a threshold, resulting in a first determination;
- based on the first determination, waiting for a first threshold amount of time;
- and
- subsequent to the waiting for the first threshold amount of time, generating a first command that causes the first data to be transmitted.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- configuring a value for a parameter that is indicative of whether degradation or delay in a network exceeds a threshold;
- obtaining first data generated via an application;
- based on the obtaining of the first data, determining that the value is less than the threshold, resulting in a first determination;
- and
- based on the first determination, causing the first data to be transmitted without imposing a delay on a transmission of the first data.
A method, comprising:
- partitioning, by a processing system including a processor, a file into a plurality of segments;
- determining, by the processing system, that a quality of an uplink communication channel is less than a threshold, resulting in a first determination;
- and
- transmitting, by the processing system and based on the first determination, a first segment of the plurality of segments subject to a delay.
