Identifying devices within transmissions within a sensing network

A method for Wi-Fi sensing carried out by a sensing algorithm manager including at least one processor configured to execute instructions, the method comprising:

• obtaining, by the at least one processor, a sensing measurement based on a sensing transmission transmitted by a sensing transmitter and received by a sensing receiver;
• identifying a media access control (MAC) address associated with the sensing measurement as a local MAC address;
• determining, by the sensing algorithm manager, that no device context record is associated with the local MAC address;
• determining a sensing imprint associated with the sensing measurement;
• determining no device context record is associated with the sensing imprint;
• and
• establishing a new device context of a sensing pair associated with the sensing transmission, the sensing pair including the sensing transmitter and the sensing receiver, the new device context containing the sensing imprint.
