Hearing aid or hearing aid system comprising a sound source localization estimator

A hearing aid configured to be worn at or in an ear of a user, the hearing aid comprising:

• a microphone system comprising a multitude of M microphones, where M is larger than or equal to two, the microphone system being adapted for picking up sound from the environment and to provide M corresponding electric input signals;
• a processor connected to said multitude M of microphones and configured to process said electric input signals, or one or more signals originating therefrom;
• and
• a database comprising:
• a plurality of acoustic transfer function vectors, representing different candidate locations of the target sound source relative to the microphone system, when said microphone system is mounted at or in an ear of a natural or artificial person, wherein M vector elements of a given acoustic transfer function vector represents frequency dependent acoustic propagation of sound from a location of the target sound source to said M microphones, and
• a multitude of posterior probabilities related to at least some of said acoustic transfer function vectors and different eye-gaze directions of the user, wherein the posterior probability of a specific transfer function vector is the probability of said specific transfer function vector given a particular eye-gaze direction;
• wherein said processor is configured to determine the current location of the target sound source relative to the user in dependence of:
• current values of said electric input signals,
• said acoustic transfer function vectors, and
• said posterior probabilities of said database.

A hearing aid comprising:

• a multitude of microphones for picking up sound in an environment of the user;
• a database comprising:
• a plurality of acoustic transfer function vectors representing different candidate locations of a target sound source in the environment relative to the microphone system;
• and
• a multitude of posterior probabilities related to at least some of the acoustic transfer function vectors, each posterior probability representing the probability of a given acoustic transfer function given a particular eye-gaze direction of the user;
• and
• a processor configured to determine a current location of the target sound source relative to the user in dependence of:
• current values of electric input signals picked up by the multitude of microphones;
• and
• the database.

A hearing aid comprising:

• a microphone system comprising a multitude of M microphones, where M is larger than or equal to two, the microphone system being adapted for picking up sound from the environment and to provide M corresponding electric input signals, the sound from the environment at a given microphone comprising a target sound signal propagated from a location of a target sound source to the mth microphone of the hearing aid, when worn by the user;
• a processor connected to said multitude of M microphones and configured to process said electric input signals, or one or more signals originating therefrom;
• a database comprising:
• a plurality of acoustic transfer function vectors representing different locations of the target sound source relative to the microphone system, when said microphone system is mounted on a head at or in an ear of a natural or artificial person;
• a multitude of conditional probabilities related to at least some of said acoustic transfer function vectors and parameters related to the eyes of the user, wherein the conditional probability of a specific transfer function vector is the probability of said specific transfer function vector given a particular parameter related to the eyes of the user;
• wherein said processor is configured to determine the location of the target sound source in dependence of a) said electric input signals, b) said acoustic transfer function vectors, and c) a time-varying signal which provides information about a current value of said parameter related to the eyes of the user.
