Abstract
Methods and systems are described for providing content are disclosed. The content may be encoded into a plurality of different versions, such as different representations of the content at different resolutions. A plurality of data objects may be determined for transmission of the content. A data object may include a portion, such as a single frame or group of frames, from each of the versions. The plurality of data objects may be sent to one or more locations in a network. The data objects may be processed to construct content segments which may be sent to users for consumption.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- determining a plurality of versions of content having a plurality of different resolutions;
- generating a data object comprising at least one frame for each version of the plurality of versions of the content;
- and
- sending, to a computing device, the data object to cause output of at least one segment of the content.
A device, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to:
- determine a plurality of versions of content having a plurality of different resolutions;
- generate a data object comprising at least one frame for each version of the plurality of versions of the content;
- and
- send, to a computing device, the data object to cause output of at least one segment of the content.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause:
- determining a plurality of versions of content having a plurality of different resolutions;
- generating a data object comprising at least one frame for each version of the plurality of versions of the content;
- and
- sending, to a computing device, the data object to cause output of at least one segment of the content.
