Method and system for performing automated audits by utilizing an audit framework

A computing device configured for performing automated audits by utilizing an audit framework, the computing device comprising:

• a processor;
• a memory storing instructions;
• and
• a communication interface coupled to each of the processor and the memory, wherein the processor is programmed to cooperate with the instructions to perform operations comprising:
• receive an audit request from an entity;
• collect, a set of evidences from a database stored within a repository, in response to the audit request;
• validate the collected set of evidences in accordance with a set of predefined validation criteria;
• generate an audit report using the validated set of evidences, wherein the audit report comprises the set of evidences along with corresponding paths, a status corresponding to each evidence from the set of evidences, and governance control names, and wherein the set of evidences in the audit report are hyperlinked to enable downloading the set of evidences from the database;
• and
• provide the audit report to the entity.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions for performing automated audits by utilizing an audit framework, the instructions comprising executable code which when executed by a processor, causes the processor to perform operations comprising:

• receive an audit request from an entity;
• collect, a set of evidences from a database stored within a repository, in response to the audit request;
• validate the collected set of evidences in accordance with a set of predefined validation criteria;
• generate an audit report using the validated set of evidences, wherein the audit report comprises the set of evidences along with corresponding paths, a status corresponding to each evidence from the set of evidences, and governance control names, and wherein the set of evidences in the audit report are hyperlinked to enable downloading the set of evidences from the database;
• and
• provide the audit report to the entity.
