Power integrated optical fiber connector

An apparatus, comprising:

• a connector part configured to receive a hybrid cable including an optical fiber and an electrical conductor, wherein the optical fiber is configured to transmit data and the electrical conductor is configured to transmit power;
• an adaptor configured to be coupled to the connector part, the adaptor including a housing and a first conductive element positioned within the housing;
• and
• a second conductive element fixedly positioned to the connector part, wherein the second conductive element is electrically coupled to the electrical conductor, and wherein the second conductive element is coupled with the first conductive element by assembling the connector part and the adaptor, wherein the connector part and the adaptor, upon the assembling, terminate delivery of the power and the data.

A system, comprising:

• an Internet of Thing (IOT) device in communication with a communication system using an optical fiber network, the IoT device is operable to transmit telemetry data to the communication system;
• a gateway connected to the IoT device via a hybrid cable extending in a first direction;
• and
• a power integrated optical fiber connector, comprising:
• a first member comprising a housing configured to receive the hybrid cable including an optical fiber and an electrical conductor;
• a second member arranged in and above at least a part of the housing of the first member such that the second member is coupled to the electrical conductor and insulated from the optical fiber, wherein the second member comprises a conductive contact;
• and
• a third member structured to receive the first member at a first position and the second member at a second position different from the first position to transfer power,
• wherein the IoT device is powered via the power integrated optical fiber connector.
