Pressure sensor

A pressure sensor comprising:

• a base member;
• a detection element on the base member and including a detection portion;
• a covering member on the base member to cover at least a portion of the detection element other than the detection portion and that has a hole portion opened in an upper surface opposite to the base member, such that the hole portion exposes the detection portion;
• a soft member supported by the upper surface of the covering member and that is softer than the covering member;
• and
• a cover member supported by the soft member and that closes an opening of the hole portion,
• wherein a gap space is present in a portion between the cover member and the soft member,
• wherein the cover member has a first surface that is directed to the soft member, a second surface that is opposite to the first surface, and a through hole that extends from the first surface to the second surface, and
• wherein the gap space is in communication with both the hole portion and the through hole.
