A valve opening and closing position detector for remotely monitoring a state of a valve is provided for easily grasping the angle and position at full closing of the valve and the angle and position at full opening of the valve, for example. The valve opening and closing position detector according to the present disclosure includes a magnetic angle sensor that detects an operation angle of a valve based on a magnetic field generated by a magnet that rotates in accordance with a rotational operation of the valve and a processor. The processor is configured to execute a program for learning opening and closing positions by storing in a memory a plurality of angles of the magnet rotated in accordance with opening and closing operations of the valve. In the valve opening and closing position detector, the processor activates the program for learning opening and closing positions in response to elapse of a predetermined time after an occurrence of a state in which the magnetic angle sensor does not detect the magnet.
