A support for a melting electrode submerged from the surface of a molten bath, the support having a power supply system and a first cooling device including an inner pipe and an outer pipe which are associated with one another for the circulation of a cooling liquid, the outer pipe of the first cooling device being surrounded by an electrical insulator, the electrical insulator being surrounded by a second cooling device including an inner pipe and an outer pipe which are associated with one another for the circulation of a cooling liquid. At least the outer pipe of the second cooling device has a substantially parallelepipedal, or parallelepipedal, cross-section.
