Abstract
A two-wheeled vehicle suspension is provided. The two-wheeled vehicle suspension includes a suspended body, a kinematic joint between two linkage bodies defining an instantaneous velocity center (IVC) axis, a braking mechanism, and a rotary mechanism that applies torque about the IVC axis. When viewed from a plane defined by the IVC axis there is an intersection between projections of the rotary mechanism and the braking mechanism during at least a portion of a travel of the suspension.

A two-wheeled vehicle suspension comprising:
- a suspended body;
- a kinematic joint between two linkage bodies defining an instantaneous velocity center (IVC) axis;
- a braking mechanism;
- and
- a rotary mechanism that applies torque about the IVC axis;
- wherein when viewed from a plane defined by the IVC axis there is an intersection between projections of the rotary mechanism and the braking mechanism during at least a portion of a travel of the suspension.
A two-wheeled vehicle suspension comprising:
- a plurality of linkage bodies including a suspended body;
- a plurality of kinematic joints each defining an instantaneous velocity center (IVC) axis;
- a wheel defining a wheel axis;
- a tire mounted to the wheel defining a tire outer diameter;
- and
- a rotary mechanism that applies torque about at least one of the IVC axes;
- wherein when viewed from a plane defined by the wheel axis, projections of the kinematic joints are located within the tire outer diameter during at least a portion of a travel of the suspension.
A two-wheel vehicle suspension comprising:
- a suspended body;
- a plurality of kinematic joints each defining an instantaneous velocity center (IVC) axis;
- a wheel defining a wheel axis;
- a tire mounted to the wheel defining a tire outer diameter;
- and
- a rotary fluid damper that applies torque about at least one of the IVC axes;
- wherein when viewed from a plane defined by the wheel axis, projections of the kinematic joints are located within the tire outer diameter during at least a portion of a travel of the suspension.
