Hand-Held Electrically Powered Work Tool with Air Leaking Out in a Slot Between the Battery and Battery Compartment

A hand-held electrically powered cut-off tool comprising:

• a work tool body;
• an electric motor disposed in a portion of the work tool body;
• a battery disposed in a battery compartment of the work tool body, the battery being selectively operably coupled to the electric motor to power rotation of the electric motor;
• a fan operably coupled to the electric motor to be driven by the electric motor to cool the electric motor;
• and
• a cooling air conduit disposed at a portion of the work tool body proximate the fan to direct a flow of cooling air generated responsive to rotation of the fan to the battery compartment such that the fan cools both the battery and the electric motor,
• wherein a wall of the battery compartment comprises a first aperture facing a second aperture formed in an enclosure of the battery to provide the cooling air from the cooling air conduit into the battery to build up an air pressure above atmospheric pressure in the enclosure of the battery, and
• wherein the air pressure built up in the enclosure of the battery exits the enclosure via a slot section at which electrical connectors of the battery are disposed.
