A washing device for washing of lipoaspirate includes a cylindrical body having a first inlet and a second inlet located at one end thereof and an outlet located at opposing end of the cylindrical body and one or more spiral ribs disposed along an inner surface of the cylindrical body. A method of washing lipoaspirate includes providing the washing device and loading the washing device with lipoaspirate and a buffer such as saline via the first inlet and second inlet, respectively. Saline is then continuously or semi-continuously pumped into the washing device via the second inlet. Waste effluent is collected via the outlet. After sufficient washing, the washed lipoaspirate is then collected via the outlet. The washed lipoaspirate may be subject to further downstream processing or injected into a subject as a fat graft. Processed lipoaspirate may also be mixed with the washed lipoaspirate for injection in other embodiments.
