Abstract
The disclosure provides for methods of using ApoA-I mimetic polypeptides to treat cancers and/or active myeloid cell by administering to a subject an ApoA-I mimetic polypeptide. Other embodiments provide cell therapy methods using engineered myeloid cells overexpressing the ABCA1 protein.
Claims17
A method of cell therapy comprising the steps of
- i) transforming a population of myeloid cells in vitro with a polynucleotide encoding an ABCA1 gene to form a population of engineered myeloid cells;
- ii) expanding the population of engineered myeloid cells;
- and
- iii) administering an effective amount of the expanded population of engineered myeloid cells to a subject having or suspected of having a cancer, thereby treating the cancer when present.
A method of treating cancer in a subject comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an ApoA-I mimetic polypeptide, thereby treating the cancer, wherein the ApoA-I mimetic polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence that is at least about 85% identical to:

- wherein superscript “D” indicates a D-amino acid, optionally, an acetyl moiety (Ac) is covalently bonded to an N-terminus nitrogen of the ApoA-I mimetic polypeptide, and optionally, an amine group is covalently bonded to a C-terminus carbon of the ApoA-I mimetic polypeptide.
