Abstract
A proactive health monitoring system for a livestock animal uses imaging devices to capture images of the livestock animal during feeding and employs a communication module to transmit images, and feeding data embodied in the images, to a remote server. The remote server includes an artificial intelligence module trained to analyze the images for health indicators such as posture, gait, and physical features, a data processing module to generate health alerts and compile feeding summaries, and a notification module to transmit the alerts and summaries to a designated application or user device.
Claims20
A proactive health monitoring system for a livestock animal, comprising:
- a livestock feeder comprising:
- one or more imaging devices mounted on the livestock feeder and configured to capture images of the livestock animal as it approaches and interacts with the livestock feeder, wherein the captured images further comprise feeding data for the livestock animal;
- and
- a communication module configured to transmit the captured images and feeding data to a remote server;
- and
- the remote server comprising:
- an artificial intelligence module trained to analyze the captured images to detect health indicators of the livestock animal, including at least one of posture, gait, temperature, and physical features;
- a data processing module configured to analyze the captured images to generate health alerts and to compile feeding summaries based on the feeding data in the captured images;
- and
- a notification module configured to send at least one of:
- the health alerts, the captured images, and the feeding summaries to one of a designated application and a designated device.
A method of proactively monitoring health of a livestock animal, comprising:
- capturing images of a livestock animal as it approaches and interacts with a livestock feeder using one or more imaging devices mounted on the livestock feeder,
- transmitting the captured images to a remote server via a communication network;
- analyzing the captured images using a trained artificial intelligence module on the remote server to detect health indicators of the livestock animal, including posture, gait, temperature, and physical features, wherein the trained artificial intelligence module is trained using a dataset of livestock images annotated with known health conditions;
- generating a health alert based on an analysis of the captured images, wherein the health alert identifies potential health conditions of the livestock animal;
- and
- transmitting the generated health alert to one of a designated user device and an application accessible by a user.
A livestock feeder comprising:
- one or more imaging devices mounted on the livestock feeder and configured to capture images of a livestock animal as it approaches and interacts with the livestock feeder, wherein the captured images further comprise feeding data for the livestock animal;
- an artificial intelligence module trained to analyze the captured images to detect health indicators of the livestock animal;
- a data processing module configured to generate health alerts based on an analysis of the captured images and to compile feeding summaries based on the feeding data in the captured images;
- and
- a notification module configured to send at least one of:
- the health alerts, the captured images, and the feeding summaries to one of a designated application and a designated device.
