Controlling image capture based on event timing during planting operation

An agricultural machine comprising:

• a controllable subsystem;
• a control system configured to control the controllable subsystem to perform an agricultural operation and generate a timing signal based on a timing of the agricultural operation;
• an optical sensor configured to capture an image;
• an optical sensor control system configured to control the optical sensor;
• and
• an image processing feedback system configured to process the image and provides a feedback signal to the optical sensor control system, wherein the optical sensor control system is configured to generate an optical sensor control signal to control the optical sensor based on the timing signal and the feedback signal.

A method of controlling an agricultural system, the method comprising:

• controlling a controllable subsystem to perform an agricultural operation;
• generating a timing signal based on a timing of the agricultural operation;
• controlling an image capture device to capture an image;
• generating a feedback indicator based on image processing performed on the image;
• and
• controlling the image capture device based on the timing signal and the feedback indicator.

A control system comprising:

• an actuation control system configured to:
• control a controllable subsystem having an assistive system configured to move an agricultural product from a metering system to the ground;
• and
• generate an output signal responsive to timing of the assistive system;
• and
• an image capture control system configured to generate an image capture control signal to control an image capture device to capture an image based on the output signal from the actuation control system.
