Data transmission method, communication processing method, device, and communication processing program

A communication method performed in a network to which a plurality of devices belong, the communication method comprising:

• determining, at each device of the plurality of devices, an address of the device based on a hash value calculated from a public key of the device according to a hash function;
• holding, at each device of the plurality of devices, state information that includes information from which a depth from a root node to the device can be identified, first identification information for identifying a parent node of the device, and second identification information for identifying the root node;
• in response to receiving, at a first device of the plurality of devices, a message that includes the state information of another device of the plurality of devices, determining whether a first condition and a second condition are both satisfied,
• (i) the first condition being that a value of the second identification information in the state information held by the first device is larger than a value of the second identification information included in the state information in the message, and
• (ii) the second condition being that the depth identified from the state information held by the first device is smaller than the depth in the state information included in the message;
• and
• in response to satisfaction of both the first condition and the second condition, updating, at the first device, the state information held by the first device, based on the state information in the received message.

A non-transitory storage medium storing computer-readable instructions thereon that, when executed by one or more processors of a device connected to a network, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• determining an address of the device based on a hash value calculated from a public key of the device according to a hash function;
• holding state information that includes information from which a depth from a root node to the device can be identified, first identification information for identifying a parent node of the device, and second identification information for identifying the root node;
• in response to receiving a message that includes the state information of another device in the network, determining whether a first condition and a second condition are both satisfied,
• (i) the first condition being that a value of the second identification information in the state information held by the device is larger than a value of the second identification information included in the state information in the message, and
• (ii) the second condition being that the depth identified from the state information held by the device is smaller than the depth in the state information included in the message;
• and
• in response to satisfaction of both the first condition and the second condition, updating the state information held by the device based on the state information in the received message.

A communication system comprising:

• a network;
• and
• a plurality of devices including one or more processors and belonging to the network, wherein each device of the plurality of devices is configured to:
• determine an address of the device based on a hash value calculated from a public key of the device according to a hash function;
• hold state information that includes information from which a depth from a root node to the device can be identified, first identification information for identifying a parent node of the device, and second identification information for identifying the root node;
• in response to receiving a message that includes the state information of another device of the plurality of devices, determine whether a first condition and a second condition are both satisfied,
• (i) the first condition being that a value of the second identification information in the state information held by the first device is larger than a value of the second identification information included in the state information in the message, and
• (ii) the second condition being that the depth identified from the state information held by the first device is smaller than the depth in the state information included in the message;
• and
• in response to satisfaction of both the first condition and the second condition, update the state information held by the device, based on the state information in the received message.
