The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus for detecting jitter on a clock signal and/or electronic component. An example method for detecting jitter on a clock signal comprises: operating a digital-to-analog converter, DAC, with a clock signal, the clock signal having noise comprising jitter to be detected; feeding an output of the DAC to an input of a CT integrator; quantizing a signal generated from the output of the CT integrator; filtering, by a low pass filter, the quantized signal such that the filtered output signal is directly proportional to the jitter in the clock signal; and detecting jitter based on the filtered output signal.
