Abstract

An electrochemical cell is connectable to a metal separator. The electrochemical cell includes a cell body portion including a current collector layer, a first electrode layer disposed on the current collector layer, a second electrode layer, and an electrolyte layer disposed between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer, and an annular support frame configured to be connectable to the metal separator and surrounding at least a portion of the cell body portion. The support frame contains zirconia and nickel oxide. A porosity of the support frame after a reduction treatment at 750° C. for 12 hours is 15% or less.
