Autonomous Data Story and Graphical User Interface Element Generation

A method of automated synthesis of natural-language reports from raw data, the method comprising:

• a computer system comprising at least one processor and memory, the computer system configured to perform operations comprising:
• storing, in an alert-datastore, a plurality of rulesets that each define one or more tests that, when met by one or more data objects, cause an alert to be generated;
• receiving a stream of data objects that each record information of an event;
• determining that at least one given data objects satisfies the one or more tests of at least one given ruleset and responsively:
• generating a corresponding alert that includes information derived from the given data object;
• generating a graphic user interface (GUI) report that comprises a graphical depiction of the information derived from the given data object;
• generating a narrative object using the information derived from the given data object, the narrative object comprising human-readable text, the generating being performed by automated operation without specific input from a user;
• and
• adding, to a newsfeed stream, a new newsfeed object that comprises the GUI report and also comprises the narrative object;
• and
• serving the newsfeed stream comprising providing the new newsfeed object in a sequential position with other newsfeed objects of the newsfeed stream.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• storing, in an alert-datastore, a plurality of rulesets that each define one or more tests that, when met by one or more data objects, cause an alert to be generated;
• receiving a stream of data objects that each record information of an event;
• determining that at least one given data object satisfies the one or more tests of at least one given ruleset and responsively:
• generating a corresponding alert that includes information derived from the given data object;
• generating a graphic user interface (GUI) report that comprises a graphical depiction of the information derived from the given data object;
• generating a narrative object using the information derived from the given data object, the narrative object comprising human-readable text, the generating being performed by automated operation without specific input from a user;
• and
• adding, to a newsfeed stream, a new newsfeed object that comprises the GUI report and also comprises the narrative object;
• and
• serving the newsfeed stream comprising providing the new newsfeed object in a sequential position with other newsfeed objects of the newsfeed stream.
